Functional Capacity Evaluation
Our Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCE) compare the injured workers physical ability to the physical demands of their job, while objectively measuring effort and reliability. The results of these comprehensive examination provide unbiased data to aid in the determination of client’s work status. This four to five hour test determines the appropriate course of action needed to progress towards case resolution.
Our FCEs are conducted by trained evaluators who administer peer-reviewed tests of physical ability and endurance. In addition, our evaluators use critical assessments of the injured workers physical effort and reliability. This conglomerate of data forms a comprehensive examination providing unbiased, valid, and reliable data. This aids in the determination of a client’s return to work status, ultimately delivering a well-defined and objective guide to case resolution.
Previously only used for “problem patients” or once MMI (Maximum medical improvement) was reached
